It’s your choice. It’s your life. Will you follow me?

July 14
This morning, as I sat down and settled my thoughts before entering my time of prayer, I was hoping Jesus would finish telling me what He had started yesterday when He invited me to follow Him. I enter my time of prayer and I am able to really settle into this time of silence with God. Near the end of my time of prayer suddenly I am dressed in black and it feels like someone behind me forcefully shoves me toward a place I don’t want to go. I don’t watch horror films, but I have seen enough clips of them to know this, that was the kind of reaction I experienced. I had a brief second of panic and then it was over. I finished the last few moments of prayer asking God, “What was that?”
I sat in stillness with God trying to unravel what had just happened. He brought me back to Isaiah 43
I have called you by name; you are Mine! “When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; And through the rivers, they will not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be scorched, Nor will the flame burn you.
Then He spoke to my spirit and said I am inviting you through this difficult season. Follow me. I called you Linda and you are Mine! Linda when you pass through the water, I will be with you just as I was with Israel when they passed through the red sea.
The rivers will not overflow you Linda, just like they didn’t overflow my people when they crossed the Jordan river into the promised land.
When you walk through the refiners fire you will not be scorched. Linda, you will come out pure and holy.
The flame of the anger from others will not burn you.
Among all the parts of the body, the tongue is a flame of fire. It is a whole world of wickedness, corrupting your entire body. It can set your whole life on fire, for it is set on fire by hell itself. James 3:6
The flame of the holy spirit will empower you.
Linda you are Mine. You have been praying to me and confessing with your mouth that you will go anywhere, anytime, and do anything that I ask. So I am asking you to follow me. Follow me through the pain and the sorrow. Follow me through the sadness and disappointment. Follow me to the other side. We have done this before, and just like in the past, I will not force you to go anywhere you do not want to go. I will not force you or push you to do anything you do not want to do. It’s your choice. It’s your life. Will you follow me?
YES!!!
