Positive Test Results

Not the answer we were hoping for, but God placed His hand of protection over us.

My daughter and her husband went down to Florida to spend a week with his parents. They came home Sunday night. On the way home, she started to feel a little under the weather but thought it might be because she had gotten too much sun. We talked on Sunday as she was driving home and she decided to get tested for COVID on Monday just to be safe. Especially because the rates in Florida have been rising. She did the rapid test and the antibody test just to be thorough. The rapid test came back negative, but they said to wear a mask around people just in case because it takes a week from the time of exposure for the antibodies to form. I really missed her and my grand-babies, so I thought maybe if we take precautions, we could see them. Besides she is probably okay. When I was talking to her on the phone my son walked by and said just wait a few days, it’s not worth the risk. I knew he was right. I just wanted to see them and was trying to get around doing what was best. Today the final test results came back. She has COVID. Her husband is now sick and so is my granddaughter. God had been preparing my heart while they were away, I kept thinking maybe we should not see her for two weeks after they got home, just to be safe. My daughter had offered the same thing even before she had any symptoms. A part of me knew that would probably be best, but I dismissed it each time because I wanted to see them and I didn't want to live in fear. God protected us. He kept us safe. He helped me not make a foolish decision.
