Unhurried Peace

Sometimes it is in the unhurried peace of a restful day that I can most sense His presence. Sometimes it is in the love of friends or family that I sense His compassion and love. Today I had both!

January 16

Because I got home so late last night, and it's been a really busy day, non-stop since early this morning, I've been really tired all day. I'm still in the middle of my fast, so some mornings can be really hard. But I woke up on time, picked up my grandchildren early, and got to church early. We had plenty of time to turn on the candles to put silverware on the table and make sure everything looked beautiful. Everyone chipped in after the brunch to tear everything down. I was able to take my grandchildren to the park to play with some of their friends. When I got home I was able to work on the window treatment for the kitchen and make dinner all while my grand-children did some school work. After dinner, I was able to finish my window treatment. The day has felt sweet and unhurried. It was in the Peace of the day and the Love of my friends where I most felt God today. Tired, but rested at the same time.
