Just because we have many good things in our life, doesn't mean it is the best

January 8
I do a 21-day fast at the beginning of the year with our church. Today, as I was doing my devotional for our yearly fast, God pulled all the pieces together. Before the year ended I realized that I was busy with some things that were good but I was missing some things that were better. So in the back of my journal I've been making a list of all the things that I wanted to do, some really important things. I can spend intentional time with my grandchildren. I've been helping to home school them this year while my daughter gets her Masters. But sometimes I can get caught up in the business of everything we need to do, and I miss some of the precious things that are even more important. My granddaughter Ella is so creative, and loves to make things. I have a huge bonus room filled with sewing machines, and a Cricut, and more supplies than you can imagine. I need to spend time teaching her how to create. The fasting devotional I'm doing is called, Opening Our Eyes to the wonderful things. That's exactly what I'm trying to do with this blog, I want to see him. Too often my focus is on the trials and busyness of life, I want to turn my head and focus my eyes on Him. He is the one that will give me directions. He is the one that will help me stand in the light. He is my joy. He is my salvation. I want to see Him!
