This could have been our undoing

October 12
As tired as my husband and I are, we are not fighting. We are not bickering, nitpicking, or taking our frustrations out on each other. Don’t get me wrong, we have gotten frustrated and angry, just not at each other. There have been lots of delays and problems. Many things have not gone as smoothly as expected. We were up until 2:00 o’clock in the morning last night putting the last of the kitchen in place and cleaning up. My son-in-law spent a good deal of the day yesterday with us until we finished getting all the cabinets in place in the basement, along with the sink and dishwasher hooked up. He insisted on cutting the plywood for the temporary countertops before we took him home. He has been such a blessing. So by the time we got into bed, it was well after 2:00. And then today we had to get new tires on the car, and by the time we got home from Costco, it was after dinner. Our friend, who is helping us with the remodel called and said he could have someone come out tomorrow to frame out the window in the basement. So my husband and I spent the entire evening cleaning up and putting things away to get everything prepared for when James comes tomorrow. We want to keep the mess of drywall repair as localized as possible this time, so we don't have the entire basement to clean again. This project could be a recipe for disaster. With all the chaos, and all the busyness, and all the money being spent, and all the stress because we're trying to do so much of it ourselves, and then I fracture my finger, it could be our undoing. But we're good! We're not fussing, we're not arguing. This project is not bringing out the worst in us. I'm just so thankful. I see God restoring so much through this project. I see Him protecting us. It is wonderful to have good memories of working with my husband on this house. And I'm so grateful for my son-in-law because we would not be as far along as we are if it wasn't for him. I know that God is weaving together some really beautiful things here. Maybe He'll let me see the bigger picture one day. I just know He is the Grand Weaver. And He's weaving a beautiful tapestry right now.
