Isaiah 40:12

The great I am holds the universe in the palm of His hand

If He can hold the universe in His hand surely He can hold me.

As I look into the night sky and see all the stars I see God’s pageantry. I wish I could go back in time and see the night sky like Abraham did when God told him His descendants would outnumber the stars in the sky. When Abraham looked up into the night sky, there was no light pollution to diminish the view. He would have seen billions of stars shining down on him. Many of those tiny stars up in the night sky are actually suns. Our sun is at the center of our solar system which goes all the way out to Pluto. That would be, 7,440,000,000 (over seven billion) miles. Our solar system is safely tucked inside the galaxy called the Milky Way. There are two trillion galaxies in the known universe. I want to help you imagine how big that really is. Imagine the milky way as a grain of sand. Now, imagine a large cathedral. It is approximately 50 square miles in size. The cathedral would be the visible universe. The grain of sand is our Milky Way. The vastness of our universe is hard for me to wrap my brain around. The Creator of the Universe knows my name. He knit me in my mother’s womb. He knows the number of hairs on my head. I am in awe of Him. Somehow as I see how small the milky way is in comparison to the universe, how small our planet is, how small I am, I feel safe and secure.

Psalm 19:1 NASB

The heavens are telling of the glory of God; And their expanse is declaring the work of His hands.

Isaiah 40:12

The great I am holds the universe in the palm of HIs hand

If He can hold the universe in His hand surely He can hold me.
