The picture God gave me this morning was the morning of a grand feast.

This world that God gave to us it's so beautiful and can be so fulfilling with so many promises for the future, it can be easy to think that this is our home. It can be easy to strive and plan. He who dies with the most toys wins can be the motto for many. Or how about you only have one life... My natural bent is to want to have serenity here. Peace and joy and happiness. God is forever reminding me that this is not the garden, this is not all there is. So the picture He gave me today was the idea of a grand feast. Something like Thanksgiving or Christmas or just a huge celebration. On the morning of a great feast we are not concerned about what we're going to have for breakfast or even lunch. Our thoughts are on the feast. We might even forgo a meal in anticipation of all that will be available later. That's how it is with our earthly life. Right now is the morning before the feast. We don’t want to go hungry, but our anticipation for what is to come, should out shine any meal we can have now. When Jesus comes again we will have a feast. Life will be all it was meant to be. We will walk in the garden in the cool of the day with our Creator. And all will be well. I know he gives me pictures like this to help me remember that the best is yet to come. We are living in the shadow of eternity. I don't need to worry when things don't work out the way I hoped, or when I don't understand His plan, because this isn't the feast. Eternity is the feast.
