October 17
My son-in-law came over again today to help my husband work in the kitchen. He brought my granddaughter and my grandson so that they could play outside while he worked. We opened up the big basement window so we could watch them as they played. Normally, I would be helping with the project, and be busy working as well. But today, I really can't do anything. So, when my grandson came in a little frustrated that his sister didn't want to play with him, I took him by the hand and said I have something we can do. We went into the basement, and I took out the lawn darts. He and I went outside and started to play. My granddaughter Ella, who was singing out among the trees, saw that what we were doing seemed like fun, and wanted to join. So for a good part of the afternoon, the three of us played lawn darts. Well, actually, Ella and Ethan played lawn darts, and I watched and took pictures.
Because I couldn't work today, since I only have one hand, God gave me the gift of time with my grandchildren. The weather was beautiful, the sun was shining, and they are such a blessing. I didn't feel guilty that I was wasting the day away because I couldn't do anything else anyway. God made me slow down and enjoy my grandbabies. And it was such a glorious day. The men got some work done. Ella and Ethan had a lot of fun, as all good children should. And I had the privilege of watching them smile and laugh and sing. In case you missed it. I saw the hand of God slow me down, so I could enjoy a beautiful day with my grandchildren. Sun shining, breeze blowing, perfect day.
