I really didn’t know what I was doing. So, I wasn’t sure it would turn out.

I have a large picture on the wall off of my living room. I love it because it holds so many photos and some really precious memories. Like a picture of my mom the last time she came to visit me. Anyway, I painted my living room two years ago and now the mat around the pictures just didn’t work with the new style. Before everyone came home because of COVID and the s\Stay at Home order was issued, I took it down and painted it. I had done a few trials with watercolor on cardboard. I finally got something I liked and decided to try painting the mat itself. Because it is so big and I was trying to make the color fairly even, it ended up too dark and too bright. It has been hanging on the wall like that for a few weeks now. So, today is the day I am going to try and fix it. I picked up a new can of floral paint. I thought I’m going to try and just lightly spray it to see if I can just mute the colors. If it doesn’t work, I will just start from scratch. I took the picture frame apart and took the mat out to my driveway and laid it on a drop cloth. I just lightly gave bursts of spray paint onto the mat. It seemed to be working. I took it inside and leaned it against the wall. Much better. It took three times going outside to lighten it, but it looks wonderful. I added some stamping around the edges and added a thin frame around each picture. I am so happy with the result. I really didn’t know what I was doing. I wasn’t sure I would ever be happy with the finished product. God made sure it all worked out, and It is better than I imagined. Thank You, Papa.
