I am being molded by the Potter

July 12

He is the potter and I am the clay. Clay being molded into something useful takes time and effort. Pressure and kneading is required to get the clay ready. The more you knead, the more pliable the clay becomes. Debris and air bubbles that would destroy the final piece are removed. Lastly the clay is shaped into the proper form. God is molding me into something useful. In the masters hands I am being softened. Things that could harm me are being removed. The potter has a plan and design to make me beautiful. Not to sit on a shelf to be looked at, but to be of great use and a blessing to those around me.

Galatians 5:22-23 says:

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control.

This is what He is developing in me

Tsedakah in hebrew means to do what is right and just. It means having a right attitude toward God, others and self. This Tsedakah happens out of a deepening relationship with God. The only way the fruit of the spirit grows in us is when we allow the potter to mold and shape us. This isn’t always easy. Too often we are blinded by our sin nature. Things like pride, and fear lead to self protection. Situations come into our lives and make us uncomfortable. It is easy to look for someone else to blame, but maybe God is at work. Maybe He is trying to point out the dirt in our own life. Once I see the dirt, I can do something about. When I see the dirt, God is at work. He is refining me, molding me into a pleasing vessel.
