Ice cream, family and laughter

Sept 6

About 6 o’clock my husband came out and said we should go get ice cream. He called my daughter and asked if she and her family would like to go with us. Then we asked our son and daughter at home if they would come. At first, they said no, but my husband convinced them. We all got in the car and drove to my daughters to pick them up. Our grand-babies were so excited. We all got back in the car and headed to Dairy Queen. The van was filled with wonderful conversation all the way there. We all ordered what we wanted and sat in the car with the windows down while we ate our ice cream. The conversation was sweet and we were all laughing. On the way home, as I listened to my children and my son-in-law talk, all I could do was smile. We are all together, and we all love each other. I looked at my husband driving the van and thanked God for all He has done. So much restored, so much healed, so much joy and laughter. As a young mother raising her children, this is what I longed for. This is the stuff that really matters. This is what fills my heart with joy. My family together, loving each other and enjoying each other. These are the greatest gifts. Thank you God for my family, restored relationships and laughter.
