My Friend, My Sister In Christ

Good friends are such a precious gift from God.

My best friend from Florida called today and we talked for 2 ½ hours. We have shared so much of life together, we are more like sisters than friends. I don’t have to explain things because she was with me when they happened. We can be completely honest with each other and share our deepest desires and fears. Next to my husband and my children she is my greatest gift from God. I miss seeing her almost every day. I miss doing projects together and planning events together. But today, the house was quiet and I had plenty of time to just chat with my best friend, my sister in Christ. I don’t have words to adequately express how much I admire her and love her. I have watched her walk in truth, and love the people who are breaking her heart. She lives out her faith in a humble and honest way. We have walked through some dark valley’s together. We have grieved over lost dreams and cried together when life has dealt devastating blows. She has comforted me in my darkest days and I have done the same for her. More times than I can count, she has been Jesus with skin on for me. She always points me back to Christ. She always loves me. We have celebrated spectacular victories together. We have dreamed together. We even wrote a book together. I was not feeling the best today. I was struggling with a headache for most of the day, but my conversation with my friend was life-giving. I saw God in my friend today. Good friends are such a precious gift from God. We were not meant to do this life alone. Thank you for being my friend. And thank you God, for giving her to me.
