So when the Mountain is not out, where is she? Did she really go away for the day?

I heard a story about Mt Rainier the other day and it reminded me of how I can feel with God sometimes.. Mt Rainier is a stunning sight in Washington State. It is actually an active volcano and is 14,411 ft high. This is no small summit. On a clear day, the beautiful snow-covered mountain soars up into the sky. Giving the neighboring cities like Seattle quite a show. But because of the weather conditions of the area, it is not as often as one would like. Clouds, fog, and haze greatly limit the view. Hence the term “the mountain is out.” So when the Mountain is not out where is she? Did she really go away for the day? Obviously not. The same is true for God. The days I don’t have a tangible experience of God, did He really go away? Of course not. When I have a time of centering prayer and don’t actively feel His presence, does that mean He was too busy and didn’t show up today? Absolutely not. Just like Mt Rainier, whether I see Him or not, he is always there. But the conditions of my life and the obstacles around me can limit my view of God. Always there, but sometimes lost in the clouds.

John 9:25

Though I was blind, now I see.
