I am so grateful to my Father for working it all out. He never lets me down.

July 1
My friend Cindy is the one who introduced me to centering prayer. This practice of centering prayer has been so wonderful in the short time I have been implementing it, I wanted to bless her. So when I found out it was her birthday I knew just the thing I wanted to make for her. Several of our friends were taking her out to lunch to celebrate her birthday. The problem was I only had a few days before we were going to go out. Normally that wouldn’t be too big a problem, but I haven’t crocheted since Christmas. All the crocheting I did for gifts at Christmas time really exacerbated my rotator cuff injuries. I knew I had to give my shoulders and arms a rest. My shoulders still are not a hundred percent, so I didn’t know how this would go. I picked up the yarn a few days ago and got to work. I had to stretch my arms out fairly frequently, to stop them from getting too tight and hurting. I decided to make her a circle prayer shawl to represent the practice of centering prayer. It is hard to judge time on a circular shawl because each row gets a little bigger and takes a little longer. So last night, when I had to go to bed without finishing it because I was getting a headache, I wasn’t sure how long it would take me to finish. Honestly, it was so bad I thought I might miss her birthday lunch, never mind finish the shawl. But God is so faithful. I slept peacefully the whole night through. I didn’t set an alarm to wake me up in the morning, because I didn’t know when I would finally fall asleep. My Heavenly Father woke me up early enough to finish the prayer shawl and make it to lunch. It turned out so beautiful and I still can’t believe I finished it on time. Seeing the smiling faces of my friends and sharing a meal together was life to a weary soul. I am so grateful to my Father for working it all out. He never lets me down.
Thank you God.
