I practiced my first centering prayer today. The app my friend recommended was great. I read some scripture from Psalms, and the phrase, deep calls to deep touched my heart. I knew that would be my focus, or centering word. I spent the next twenty minutes bringing my wandering thoughts back to that word. I sat on my back porch, sitting in a comfy chair, with the sun on my face and the birds singing in the backdrop. It was such a calming time. No striving, no rushing, just being in the presence of My Creator. By the end of the twenty minutes here are a few things I understood.

Deeper into the heart of God

Deeper into the wilderness

Deeper into the Holy waters

Deeper into relationship

Deeper into Trust

Deeper into Peace

The deeper I go in my relationship with God, the deeper I want to go. This is what deep calls to deep means. He is calling me deeper.
