It is because of the surpassing value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord.

I have been crucified with Christ, and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me. Galatians 2:20 NASB
This is my reality now. This newness of life is available now. Christ in me. He is the light of the world. It is in full abandonment and surrender that this inner light is lit. Because of Christ in us, the old life in Adam is gone/dead. We can now live in newness of life. When I try to light the fire from within, I fail. It is not my light, but His The more Christ fills me the more centered, strong, confident, peaceful, assured, and steady I become. Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come. You have stripped off the old self, with its practices and have clothed yourself with the new self.
It is already done. It is no longer my sin-nature in control. Jesus did this on the cross for me when He was crucified. This is not some spiritual state I will someday attain. I have it now.
This is why I can regard everything as loss. It is because of the surpassing value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. Truly when I stand face to face with my Lord and Savior so much that consumes my thoughts won’t matter.
Surrender is the answer, total resignation, love, and obedience, moment by moment. Trusting the one who holds our destiny. Christ in me is the key
Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come.
Phil 3:8, Colossians 3:9-10 5-15, 2 Corinthians 5:17
