Somehow the Pastor of our Church was given a semi-truck load of frozen chicken tenders. He gave approximately half to partnering organizations for distribution and use, places like food banks. He had the idea to take the other cases of Chicken and empower the Grace Covenant family to go and do ministry as we would bless and serve people in need. I asked my daughter what she thought of us picking up some cases and passing the chicken out in her neighborhood with her kids. She thought it was a great idea. So, today we picked up 30 boxes of breaded chicken tenders. It filled the back hatch of our minivan. It took us a couple of hours to pass out all the boxes. My grandchildren absolutely loved it. When we arrived at the first door, I told the women answering, we would like to bless you with a free box of chicken tenders. I also explained that they came from our church and we simply wanted to bless them. With shock and a pleasant smile, she said thank you. Off to the next house, I never had to do a thing after that, except to drive the van. Both Ella- Rose, my granddaughter, and Ethan, my grandson took over. They would hold the box and tell the people answering the door, we simply wanted to bless them. Most people simply said thank you with a little confusion, but grateful. One man said his wife was a COVID nurse and was so grateful. Another didn't want to take it at first. He looked at us with suspicion, but finally said thank you and took the box. A moment later he and his wife opened the door again, and with tears in her eyes, she was saying thank you. One couple wanted to give us gas money, as a way to thank us for what we were doing. One sweet woman, who didn't even take a box, because she doesn't eat meat, stood at the door watching us go, saying, thank you, God bless you, this is wonderful, over and over again. I am so thankful we had the opportunity to bless, and my grandchildren were a part of it. But truthfully, We were blessed so much more than the people we delivered chicken to.
