The fierceness of the battle is not evidence of defeat.

January 21

My friend came over today to fix a pair of pants. We got caught up on some of the events happening in our lives and then we had some time to pray. We sat together on the sofa in my bonus room and invited God into our midst. It was such an anointed time of prayer. It was sweet and powerful. It was filled with hope and wonder. I felt renewed and refreshed by the time we had to end. It wasn't just because we had prayed for each other. We had spent most of our time praying for others and some really difficult situations. I felt so good because I had just been in the presence of God. Where two or more are gathered, He will be there. I am so grateful for friends who can pray like that. I am so grateful for a God who hears and answers. As we prayed for some really difficult situations for friends and family, God reminded me of something I read many years ago.

The fierceness of the battle is not evidence of defeat.

So often, when things are at their worst, we are tempted to give up because we feel like we have lost. This is when we need to remember who our God is. He is on our side and will do battle for us. This is why we pray. We are calling on the power and help of the creator of the universe, our God.
