October 1
One of my girlfriends took me out to lunch today to celebrate my birthday. We have been planning this for a few weeks and it was really nice to just sit and chat with her. She is such a kind, compassionate, and caring person. She always asks how other people are doing. She remembers what is going on in other people's lives, and she truly cares. I feel really blessed to call her my friend. We don't often get time together with just her and me. We usually see each other at our Life group or some other event at church, like Bible studies. So today just to sit and chat with her uninterrupted was wonderful. I love our life here in North Carolina and I feel blessed every day. We have the most amazing church. We have dear friends that truly care about us, and we care about them. She gave me a sweet gift and a card. She gave me a beautiful candle and said it was because I bring the light of Christ with me where ever I go. When I got home I read the card that she had given me. It's so touched my heart, that it made me cry. I look up to this dear friend. She is such a woman of God. So for her to tell me that I inspire her and that I spur her on to deeper her relationship with the Lord when she spends time with me, she couldn't have given me a better gift. As I read her words I felt God telling me, You're doing it right. Keep up the good work. I'm proud of you.
Tonight my message is short because my finger really hurts. I'm having a hard time concentrating because of the pain. I'm just grateful that God provided a simple thing for me to write. Such a sweet gift of encouragement.
