Grateful hearts produce more Joy

It is my grandson’s birthday today. His name is Ethan and he is turning six. Just the thought of this precious little boy makes me smile. So much love packed into one little body. Every time I see him the first thing he does is run to give me a hug and a kiss, and I see him almost every day. The last thing before he leaves is give me a hug and a kiss. He is so grateful for everything he receives. He touches my heart every time I get to see him. Big brown eyes staring back at me filled with love. My husband took the training wheels off his little bike a month or so ago. We decided to get Him a new bike for his birthday. Something a little bigger that would fit him better now that he can ride. I went to the store to get a bike. There are no bikes in the store. With the stay at home order, all the bikes are sold out, everywhere. I went online and found a green Schwinn. Before I could get it in the cart it was gone. So today I could not give him a bike I could only show him what I was going to get him. I took him over to the computer and pulled up the picture. His little eyes got big and he was so excited. I explained to him that we could wait for this one to come back in stock or we could sit down and try to pick out a new one tomorrow. He says to me matter of factly with no disappointment, We can look for one tomorrow Nanny, I don't like to wait. No disappointment that he didn't get the bike today. No disappointment that it wasn't wrapped or he might not get the one he loved. Just gratefulness. I think God wants us all to live life a little more like this.
