The bible says that every good gift is from above. Today was filled with good gifts.

September 19
Today was my birthday. It was such a beautiful day. My husband took me out this morning to get a magnolia tree for my birthday. I just love Magnolia trees. The first time I saw one it was 60-80 feet tall and in full bloom. I had never seen a more beautiful tree. Now, I will have one in my front yard. WhAen we come home from running around, as we get close to the house, I can see a Happy Birthday sign in my front yard. Not just a little sign, each letter was separate and about a foot tall. I could see it halfway down the street. It made me cry. When I walk in the house not only had my daughters cleaned my house, they decorated. It looked beautiful and so festive. The table was set with fun plates and all the extras. WOW
We all headed out to walk along a nature trail close to the house. The weather couldn’t have been more beautiful. I feel so blessed to be out with all my kids and enjoying the day together. When we got home I started to get set up to watch a movie outside. Both my sons came out and took over getting the screen set up to hang from the trees. Just as we got everything put together dinner was ready. My son-in-law grilled chicken for us along with asparagus and baked potatoes. It was delicious.
My husband got the fire going in the fire pit. We all sat around the fire making s'mores, eating snacks, and watching a movie. I couldn’t have planned a more perfect day. My kids have been asking me what I wanted to do for my birthday for two weeks. I just couldn’t decide. With all the work we are doing in the house it just didn’t make sense to plan a weekend away, and I didn’t want to drive two hours for a hike. I just wanted to be with everybody. Last night as I was laying down with my youngest daughter before she went to bed again she asked me what I wanted to do. It was then that I thought of watching the movie outside rather inside and have a fire in the fire pit. I just wanted their company, but they each got me a little gift. All were things I love, but the best gift of all is their love. I don’t just know all my children love me, they show me in a million little ways. They chose to put aside their busy lives to spend the day with me and make sure I had a great birthday. So where did I see God today? I saw Him in the love of my husband and children and grandchildren. I saw Him in the love of friends and family who messaged and called me all day today to wish me a happy birthday. I saw God in the easy flow of the day. Nothing felt rushed or stressful. From the time I woke up until right now before I go to bed I have been blessed. The bible says that every good gift is from above. Today was filled with good gifts. More than I could mention here in one short paragraph. Thank you, Father, for every good gift, because they are all good. I love you.
