Sometimes alterations can be harder than making something from scratch.

August 15
My friend’s daughter is getting married next weekend. They asked if I could alter her dress. I have been sewing since I was a little girl. I even made custom wedding dresses for a little while. I know I can do the alteration, but it is my least favorite thing to do. I only agree to do it for friends because it is a blessing. I know I will do it right, and it won’t cost them a fortune. I had been putting it off but knew I had to get it done today. I had already cleared off my big table in my bonus room where I sew. You just never know what complications you will run into when altering something. It can be especially tricking when it comes to wedding dresses. I made sure I had the whole day.
I started to pull back all the layers of this dress to figure out how to take it in and what to do with all the embroidered lace. As I looked at the dress and knew what the bride was looking to accomplish I realized this was going to be much simpler than I thought. It always takes time to adjust something with so much detail and so many layers. I was just so thankful that I didn’t run into any real difficulties and everything went so smoothly. Thank you Jesus for showing me the easiest way to get the look she wanted. I can’t wait to see it on her.
