April 15

Some of the ways I see God throughout a day may seem insignificant, and in a lot of ways they are. But they are some of my favorites. When someone cares about the little things in your life, like how you like your coffee or the way to take pillows off the bed, it makes you feel seen and heard. It makes you feel loved. When the basic necessities of life are provided for, it is to be applauded. We should be thankful for that. We should show appreciation for food and shelter and all the provisions we take for granted. We should be grateful to God and our spouses for all they provide. We should be thankful to our employers for the job they provide. We as a people should simply live a life of gratitude, and too often we see what we lack, not what we have. I say all this, so you understand I am not talking about wanting more. I am so grateful, to so many, for the life I have. But, when someone goes the extra mile, to not just supply our needs, it's the icing on the cake, the cherry on top, the extra mile! Those really seemingly small acts of kindness just melt my heart. You remembered! You thought of me. You didn't just feed me, you made my favorite! So when God does these little personal things, I feel secure in His Love. I had planned on writing a very different paragraph today. But, as I was about to go to bed, my head filled with so many other thoughts, plans for tomorrow, people I need to pray for, hurts I need to be healed; God reminded me to bring in my small seedlings for the night. If I had left them out, the heavy rain would have ruined them. At the end of the day, it is really easy for me to forget the things that are not in my routine. God didn't forget and he never does. He cared about my little seedlings, and He cared about me.
