Those difficult and sometimes painful paths tempt us to keep our eyes to the ground so we can navigate through the rubble. God wants us to keep our eyes up and on the horizon.

April 23
As I was wrapping up the day God reminded me of a truth he taught me years ago. He was reminding me, to help me keep my eyes on Him because sometimes the path we are on is dirty and dusty, full of obstacles, and dangerous pitfalls. When the path is difficult and full of boulders and potholes, we must tread carefully. Those difficult and sometimes painful paths tempt us to keep our eyes to the ground so we can navigate through the rubble. This is our mistake. Focusing on the rubble just makes it bigger and we miss the beauty around us. God wants us to keep our eyes up and on the horizon. We must trust that He will guide our steps as He is guiding us through. When we keep our eyes on Him we can see the sunrise. We can see His glory. He and only He can lead us through this. There is something powerful in walking tall with our heads up, and determination in our steps. We need to keep our eyes on where we are going, to the sunrise, to God’s glory, and to green pastures. Sometimes the path is hard and treacherous, but God is great. God’s Glory shines brightest in the darkness; let’s keep our heads up so we don’t miss it. The solution is never in the rubble. Jesus is the key. He will guide us step by step, day by day, never too early and never too late. We don’t have to navigate; we only listen and obey.
