Not only was I reminded today of God's protection, but also His provision

August 28
My husband and I are pretty handy, but there are some things we just can’t do, or wouldn’t risk trying. Things like moving a major drainpipe. And hiring a professional can break the bank. We have gotten a few quotes over the years for plumbing improvements and decided to just not bother with it. We simply wouldn’t do the upgrade. So for God to provide someone for us to work with is such a gift! Someone to call when we are not sure how to proceed and someone to do the things that are above our pay grade. Like moving a pipe. We don’t mind paying for the help, but we want to do as much of the job as possible to keep expenses down. So much got done between today and yesterday, thanks to a new friend. Doors moved, windows taken out, pipes moved, and tomorrow the plumbing for the basement will be complete. My husband got clarity on how to do some wiring and a few other great ideas. I am so grateful and blessed. I was reminded of God’s perfect timing again today. Like I said before in earlier blogs, we have known since we moved in that we wanted to redo the kitchen. We also wanted to move the exterior door in the basement. My husband had a friend come to help us with the work when we first got here. It turned out to be a bad idea. He didn’t know near as much as we thought he did, and there were lots of things he wouldn’t do, easy things, like paint. Like I said, a bad idea. When our new friend James moved the door, he put a header above the door to support the wall. If this was not done it would cause a serious problem with the structural integrity of our home. I would not have known to do that. I looked at my husband and said I am so glad we didn’t have your friend move this door. I don’t think he would have known to reinforce the wall above the door. Since none of the work this man did for us was done correctly I can assume that this wouldn’t have been either. I am so glad that God not only protected us but today, He provided a way.
