Staying up really late may exhaust some people, but I love the quiet of the night. Especially when I invite God to join me.

February 13

Tomorrow, we will set up for the wedding I have been helping to decorate. I am almost done with everything, but still had a few loose ends to tie up. I went to morning Grace with my grandchildren. Then I came home to do school with them. After dinner, when they went home, I went up to my bonus room to get everything wrapped up. I love to create things with my hands. I believe we were created to create. There is something so satisfying when it all comes together and is beautiful. I stayed up really late finishing everything up; signs and banners, bows, and succulents… Oh My! It was so peaceful! No interruptions. Just me and God and my project. I love the stillness of the night. Everyone is sleeping soundly. The house is quiet. I can hear God. We have some of the best conversations late at night when I am busy with my hands. I don't just ask Him to bless what I am making, I ask him to guide me, I ask His opinion all through the process. When something isn't coming together as I want, I ask Him, what am I missing? He never fails to help. I know as I head off to bed with everything complete, It is really late! I should have been in bed hours ago, but I have a smile on my face and joy in my heart. I can't do it all the time, but I love nights like this! Me and God and my craft room.
