Out of our Praises comes the Beauty

April 7

I woke up with a headache today, needles in my eyes. I used steam to relieve the pressure in my sinuses and that helped for a little while. A new bible study was starting today at 10 am on zoom and I did not want to miss it so I laid down for about 40 minutes before it started. I got myself some tea, my bible, and my computer. My headache slowly turned into a migraine. I was afraid I wouldn't be able to finish the class. I know I didn't get as much out of the teaching as I would normally, because of my migraine, but one thing really stood out. When you are in the midst of a difficult or tragic situation and you are pouring out all your complaints to the Lord, don't hold back. I have taught my kids that our God is a big God, you can't hurt His feelings. He already knows what is in your heart and pouring it out to Him, the good, the bad, and the ugly, is cathartic. Here is the important part. Finish with ... But God, and praise His name!. If you don't have enough words, just go to the Psalms, they are full of beautiful descriptions of God. You will find that the more time you spend in worship after you have let out the darkness, the more you will have victory, the more you will have peace. You are trading your sorrows for Joy. Lord, you are my Joy. You are a way maker, miracle worker, you move mountains. Father, you are my protector and healer. In You, I will trust. You are my strong Fortress in times of need. You are my friend and nothing can take me out of the palm of your hand.
