I just love weddings, The bride all in white. The groom in a tux. It is like a fairy tale, only better.

A wedding! It is a covenant made not just before God, but with God. It is a promise to Love forever. Watching this lovely young couple get married today was a beautiful picture of that promise. It brought me back to the heart of God. Marriage was created by God and is a picture of His love and commitment to us, His pursuit of us. Marriage is such an important illustration to God that the Bible begins with one, and ends with one. The first man and woman were joined in marriage while in the Garden of Eden. Father God gave the bride to Adam. In the book of Revelation, Christ marries His Church. From beginning to end God never stops loving us or pursuing us. He fights for us and provides for us. His love never fails. If our marriages are meant to be a picture of the final marriage between Christ and the Church, shouldn't our marriages look different? If our marriages were meant to show a picture of God's perfect, never-ending love for us, don't you think he will help us and provide a way for us to succeed? We need to fight for our marriage like Christ fights for us. We should love better and sacrifice more. Marriage is not just a fairy tale picture of romance, and a contract to care. Marriage is God's picture and promise of His great love for us. God uses marriage to grow us into the men and women he created us to be. God loves laughter and joy, friendship, and intimacy, He loves humility and sacrifice.
