I have a front-row seat to watch as eggs hatch and babies grow.

April 11

I love God’s creation. Looking out at all He created I am wrapped in awe and wonder. The beauty that surrounds me is breathtaking. When I am still, and safely nestled in my Father’s embrace, I know I am a child of God. I delight in Him, and I know he delights in me. A few days ago I found a bird nest in the Arbor that is placed over the bench in my garden. It was the most perfect birds nest I have ever seen. My first thought was, who put this here? It looked too perfect to be real, but it is! To my absolute delight, today when I peeked into the nest I saw three beautiful blue eggs. I had never seen an egg such a bright blue before. The nest and the eggs belong to the Robin I have been seeing in our tees and flying all around our house. I am like a kid, I am so excited. Every year since we moved here, God has given me a bird’s nest somewhere in the front of our house. Last year we had one in the bottom of our mailbox where the flyers go! This year we have a cardinal’s nest in the holly tree. With all the thorns it is hard to see, so I can mostly just l watch them go in and out of their temporary home. But, this robin's nest is perfect. I will get to watch all that happens. I will see the new babies and watch them grow until one day they will have flown away and the nest will be empty. What a joy! God just reminded me as I am entering my own season of an empty nest... What a Joy! Watching my own children grow up and create lives of their own, becoming independent young men and women I am so proud of. God blessed me with a front-row seat as I was able to homeschool them. We shared long days, reading and learning, laughing, and playing. I was able to share who Jesus is every day. I was so afraid when I started homeschooling, that I promised God I would make reading His word a priority. I said, I will read to the kids until they were ready to move on, but please make enough time for the rest of their school, and He did. Some days we would read for more than an hour. So many wonderful days. So many wonderful memories.

On the next day there were four pretty blue eggs
