El Roi, The God Who Sees

I love it when God sees me and provides.

We are surprising a friend for her birthday today. I am so blessed to have such great friends, and it is so fun to celebrate birthdays together. One of my friends planned to have a surprise birthday lunch. I got all dressed and ready to go. I had to leave early because she lives almost an hour away. I grabbed the birthday gift and headed to the car. I pulled up the address in my GPS and I checked the message one more time before I pulled out of the driveway. I can’t believe it; It's next week and not today. I almost drove all the way to her house a week early. I didn’t have a reason to double-check the message. I really don’t know why I did, except to say God saved me from losing a lot of time. I love it when God protects me in simple kind ways like today. It wasn’t anything big or flashy. It wasn’t monumentally important. It was just a simple kindness. My heavenly Father took care of a simple scheduling mishap because He cares for me. Thank you, Lord. If I can trust Him to take care of a simple detail like today, it helps me to trust Him with the more important things of my life. He is El Roi, the God who sees. And He sees me.
